Georgina Beyer in Wellington transgender protest on Thursday 8 June
Approximately 30 people picketed outside the Portuguese Consulate in Wellington. Organised by Agender - the transgender support and advocacy group - the protest's aim was to draw attention to the lacklustre response by the Portuguese judicial system towards the horrific torture and murder of Gisberta Salce Junior, a transgender street-worker in Porto, Portugal in February this year.
